From Consumption To Communion
29 January 2010
Capitalism and communism often seem to be thrust against each other as if they are diametrically opposed. We are conditioned to think
that all of us humans must conform to one of these systems. The truth is we don't need either. Nor do we need an alternative. Believe it
or not, we don't need any system at all. What we humans need is food, water, clothing and shelter. Beyond those basic needs we need the
love and companionship of our fellow human beings and we need creative expression within our society.
The prevailing myth of money - the belief that certain pieces of paper or plastic have value beyond any other is a collective delusion.
Many may argue that the myth has served a purpose in the last few centuries where it has gripped man's brain and compelled him beyond
his reason. Regardless, the past and the present are different beasts. What we have now is a consumer society, a collection of
corporations whose tentacles control, amongst other things, governments, prisons, television and films. Through those things they can
affect many other things, effecting change on a massive level, influencing the very consciousness of humanity. It is a giant reptilian
machine which manufactures consumers when consumption is low. It is fundamentally retarded and opposed to human welfare.
The problem is the focus on consumption. Consumption is not a human need. Communion is a human need. We need to create our societies
with the focus on communion not consumption, for communion is the true value that is created in a society. Communion is art, it is
emotional and spiritual communication, the sharing of ideas, and the advancement of technology to serve human well-being. Democracy is
meaningless without it.
The reason you feel like a vacuous piece of shit is because you have been made into one. You have accepted the notion that your time has
a price. You have accepted the notion of land ownership, and the enslavement that ensues. You have been a peasant slave for most if not
all of your adult years. Or maybe you are one of the few land owners. Your drinking water has been fluoridated since you were a child.
When you became depressed in your early twenties they put you on anti-depressants. These pills contained more fluoride. Fluoride was
used in nazi prisoner of war camps, secretly put in the water to make the prisoners more docile, more obedient to authority, and less
likely to want to try and escape. Why would they be putting fluoride in your water and toothpaste for all these years? You know the
answer.
The fire in the master's house is set.
